Noah stumbled around, knocking over his glass as the sea swallowed up the gold band. Noah dove into the water, belly flopping with a big splash. Seconds later, Scott appeared in the water next to him. He put his arms around him and used his feet to push off the sandy bottom, pulling Noah back to the surface.

As he awoke on the deck of his sailboat the following morning, a light drizzle fell on Noah’s face, and dense fog blanketed the marina. Wearing the clothes he had on the night before, he sat up and put his hand to his aching head, suddenly noticing that his wedding ring was no longer there. “Shit. What did I do?” he muttered to himself.
